A Generation Who Did Not Know the LORD

And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD or the work that he had done for Israel. Judges 2:10

I read this verse and was reminded of the responsibility that each generation has to teach the next how to know and be obedient to the Lord. While moms are clearly involved in this process, I believe God has placed significant responsibility on the shoulders of men as husbands and fathers.

Dad, You cannot forsake or abandon this responsibility. That’s not an option. Nor can you say “I want my children to choose their own way, so I’m not going to influence them.” This strategy is irresponsible. Yes, they will ultimately make their own choices, but you can and must live out a compelling witness and with your words encourage them to choose eternal life through Jesus Christ… (There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12)

So, what are you doing this year, this month, this week, today to pass faith in Jesus Christ on to your children so they do not become a generation who does not know the Lord or the work he has done of behalf of you and your family?

There are some great resources that could help you with this:
